Don Bosco Mission –  Kuojok

(2019) 2020

Don Bosco Kuojok is a newly opened mission. It was started in May 2019 by Fr. John  Peter and Br. Lothar. It is a land of 400 X 200 meters for educational, psyco-social and agricultural activities.

In this land, we have a primary school with 393 children from K.G till P7. It operates with 10 teachers from Monday till Friday from 8:00 a.m till 3:00 p.m. Midday meals are provided through the help of WFP. We also encourage school garden with the help of world vision.

We have a Drop-in centre in Wau and Kuajok for the street children who come to attain group and individual counseling. They take shower and a meal is provided in the evenings. In Wau, those who are regular to our centre are given place to sleep at night. We also have a rehabilitation programme for the street children in kuajok compound. Children who are interested in going home are called to the rehabilitation centre for two weeks to have intense preparation before they are re-unified with their family.

In the evenings, more than 100 young people gather every day for the oratory. We have two football teams (seniors and juniors) recognized by the county football organization. On every Saturdays, special animation programmes on personality development are conducted by the salesians.
