An evangelised and evangelising community
For the Church, evangelizing means bringing the Good News into all the strata of humanity, and through its influence transforming humanity from within and making it … The Church evangelizes when she seeks to convert, solely through the divine power of the message she proclaims, both the personal and collective consciences of people, the activities in which they engage, and the lives and concrete milieu which are theirs (cf. EN 18). The ingredients of an effective Evangelization are: Proclamation, Conversion, Incorporation and Service (apostolate / mission)
«“To evangelise” does not simply mean to teach a doctrine, but to proclaim Jesus Christ by one’s words and actions, that is, to make oneself an instrument of his presence and action in the world» (CDF, Doctrinal Note on Certain Aspects of Evangelisation, n. 2).
The source of all work of evangelisation lies in a personal encounter with Christ, a daily event renewed in our listening to the Word, our participation in the Paschal Mystery (through liturgy and sacraments), in our fraternal sharing and our service of the young.
