    In 1988, the Salesians were welcomed to the capital Khartoum and offered the running of a technical school which had been closed down for lack of personnel. The school had three sections: carpentry, auto mechanic and a printing press. From 1988 to 1996, the school was resurrected with new workshops; Welding, General Mechanic and Building. The population of the school grew from a meager 50 students reached a remarkable figure of 1,000 and forced training to be divided into two shifts, morning and afternoon shifts. In 1997, a new curriculum, a new syllabus and new courses were set up
