BIWE is the training and education \n        organization from Germany\u2019s South Western State of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg.\n    <\/p>\n    <p>\n        This partnership builds on Don Bosco\u2019s long-standing commitment to empowering youth \n        through practical, values\u2011based training, and combines it with BIWE\u2019s experience in \n        industry-oriented vocational education.\n    <\/p>\n    <!-- Image 1 -->\n    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sdndel.org\/boystown\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Bild-2.jpeg\" alt=\"TVET training session\" \/>\n<\/div>\n\n<!-- Phase 1 -->\n<div class=\"section\">\n    <h2>A Joint Effort to Strengthen Quality Training<\/h2>\n    <p>\n        In the first phase of the partnership, the focus lay on enhancing the quality of training in the trades of welding and masonry. Together with BIWE, Don Bosco:\n    <\/p>\n    <ul>\n        <li>Updated and aligned curricula to better reflect current industry requirements<\/li>\n        <li>Provided capacity-building for teachers and instructors, ensuring they are equipped with modern pedagogical and technical skills<\/li>\n        <li>Upgraded training workshops with improved tools and materials<\/li>\n        <li>Strengthened collaboration with the private sector, creating direct links between training programs and employers<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p>\n        Through these combined efforts, <strong>114 students<\/strong> received targeted support, and <strong>195 vocational teachers and company-based instructors<\/strong> benefited from professional development opportunities. Students were connected with potential employers and received soft skills training to improve communication, teamwork, and problem-solving\u2014key requirements in modern workplaces. These efforts significantly enhanced the employability and confidence of young graduates.\n    <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<!-- Artisan Certification -->\n<div class=\"section\">\n    <h2>Empowering Informally Trained Artisans<\/h2>\n    <p>\n        A major achievement of the first phase was the successful certification of informally trained artisans. Many skilled artisans in Kenya lack formal recognition, limiting their employment opportunities. In partnership with relevant authorities, the project supported <strong>271 artisans<\/strong> in upgrading their skills and obtaining official certification\u2014an important step toward better income and increased social mobility.\n    <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<!-- Phase 2 -->\n<div class=\"section\">\n    <h2>Phase Two: Expanding Reach, Deepening Impact<\/h2>\n    <ul>\n        <li>Broader occupational profiles and outreach beyond Nairobi to benefit more young people and instructors across Kenya<\/li>\n        <li>Strengthening institutional sustainability, with a focus on Don Bosco\u2019s Production Units, which generate income to support the training centers<\/li>\n        <li>Professionalizing production units to enhance operational efficiency and increase revenue<\/li>\n        <li>Digital transformation of teaching and learning, introducing a Learning Management System (LMS) to support blended learning, monitor student progress, and expand access to learning materials<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p>\n        Teachers will receive training on digital pedagogy, while students will benefit from more interactive and accessible learning opportunities.\n    <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<!-- Partnership Future -->\n<div class=\"section highlight\">\n    <h2>A Partnership for the Future<\/h2>\n    <p>\n        The TVET partnership between Don Bosco and BIWE is funded by the \n        <strong>German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)<\/strong> \n        through sequa gGmbH.
