The practical trainees’ meeting was held in Juba from the 5th to 6th December 2022. In the previous years, the meetings were held in Nairobi Kenya. This year, eleven brothers from the 8 Communities of North and South Sudan participated in the meeting, (four Missionaries; two are from Congo and two from Vietnam) respectively. While 6 were local confreres. The meeting had five sessions which were beautifully animated.
Day one: Rev. Fr. Paul Antimi Sdb the Delegate superior open the meeting with a welcoming remark then a conference by the Provincial of the Eastern Africa Province (AFE) Rev. Fr. Simon Asira Lipuku Sdb. Session one was held by Fr. Joseph Pulikkal the rector Don Bosco Gumbo who gave a talk on Emotional Maturity and Child safe-guarding policy. Session two was on youth ministry by Fr. Leo Antony Ariokinathan Delegation Youth delegate.
During the session, the youth delegate listened to the reports from various communities on the youth ministry activities.
Day two: Session three by Rev, Philip Lazatin Sdb on life of the practical trainee. Session four by Rev. Fr. Paul Antimi Sdb on young Salesians and accompaniment. Afterwards, Fr. Joseph Nguyen Duc Can; the Delegation economer had a session on the Vow of poverty and transparency in religious life. He emphasized on the importance of rendering proper accounts.
